Bells for V E Day

Thursday 8th May 1945 was the date on which Victory in Europe was declared.

80 years later, to the day,  church and cathedral bells all over the United Kingdom  will ring out from 6.30pm in a co-ordinated way to mark this important anniversary.

Here in Great Wilbraham the ringers at St Nicholas Church will join in this National commemoration by ringing various Changes or “methods”  for at least 30 minutes from 6.30pm.  They ask that residents open their doors or windows to let the sound in!
