Friday 30th November:

The Greatest Showman. (Cert. PG) 

Starring Hugh Jackman, this acclaimed 2017 musical film celebrates the birth of show-business. It was inspired by the story of P.T. Barnum, a visionary who rose from nothing to create a spectacle that became a worldwide sensation.

Friday 4th Jan 2019 –

The Book Thief (Cert 12A)

While subjected to the horrors of World War II Germany, young Liesel finds solace by stealing books and sharing them with others. In the basement of her home, a Jewish refugee is being protected by her adoptive parents. Based on the book by Markus Zusak and starring Sophie Nélisse, Geoffrey Rush and Emily Watson.

Friday 8th February: I, Daniel Blake. (Cert. 15)

A 2016 film directed by Ken Loach and written by Loach’s frequent
collaborator Paul Laverty. It stars Dave Johns as Daniel Blake, who is denied employment and support allowance despite his doctor finding him unfit to work. Hayley Squires co-stars as Katie, a struggling single mother whom Daniel befriends.
The film won the Palme d’Or at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival, the Prix du Public at the 2016 Locarno International Film Festival, and the 2017 BAFTA for Outstanding British Film.

Friday 1st March: Swimming with Men (Cert 12A)

A man who is suffering a mid-life crisis finds new meaning in his life as part of an all-male, middle-aged, amateur synchronised swimming team. Showcasing the many talented Rob Brydon, this feel-good film based on a real life event, co-stars Robert Graves and Jane Horrocks.
